Fonts Used on Torahtimes
There are several ways to download fonts at torahtimes. On pages where I use biblical fonts, there will be links after the usages of the fonts labeled (DF) (for download font). If (DF) appears next to a font that appears scrambled on your monitor (empty boxes appear or spaces), then you can click (DF) to download that font. See this article for a page that will probably scramble. The most direct way to download the font is to click on DF. DF will download that one individual font for the incorrect type you see. If you don't have the correct font, the computer will substitute another font from your machine, but it will not be exactly right. The right font is the (DF) font. This is because many common fonts now use the Unicode standard. So you will see some Hebrew and Greek without the correct fonts. However, the accents and vowel points will not be perfect. Sometimes there will be empty boxes or spaces. Keep reading for install instructions.
The second method is to download fonts using the links at the bottom of this page. Here are general installation instructions for all downloads. Installing fonts is one of the most fundamental download skills that a computer user needs to know.
1. When you click the download link (DF or the font names in the list below) a box like this will open.
2. Remember the file 'Name:'. Click the "Save" button.
3. A folder will open. You can change it if you want. Click "Save" again, and the font will download.
4. Another box will open. Click "Open folder" and you will see the downloaded font.
5. Click "Start", Click "control panel", Click "fonts" to open the windows fonts directory.
6. Drag the saved font file from the first open directory to the fonts directory.
7. Windows will automatically install the font or it will refuse if you already have it.

Possible Problems:
1a. The instructions don't go with my system: you are not using windows XP or your version of windows is too far removed from XP.
1b. Your firewall may stop the download box from opening. Disable it for the download. Things like "Zone Alarm" are set by default to interfere.
2. If you are on a public terminal, you may be able to download to your own disk, but you will not be able to install the font on the system. Many of the fonts are linked to photos. Try clicking the link behind the scrambled font.
3. If you have a different problem send me email or register on the forum and post a message to get help.
