Paul, the Law, and the Good News of Messiah

It has been said that Jesus was a Jew and Paul invented Christianity. Yes Jesus was a Jew. His Hebrew name is Yeshua. He is the Messiah. But did Paul invent Christianity? Hardly! What happened was Christianity reinvented Paul. They did not do it all at once, but step by step, stroke by stroke, and corruption by corruption.
Actually there was a sect of Christians that reinvented Paul all at once. This was the majority party during the great apostacy of the second century. They were called gnostics. They rejected all of the Torah and the Prophets, and all the New Testament Writings except Luke and Paul. These they heavily edited to remove any connection to the God of Israel or his Law. Then they added mountains of their own writings and claimed they were scripture also.
Some Gnostics realized they had overplayed their hand to deceive Christians where the good news had spread beyond the regions where they had corrupted it. So they invented the Catholic Church and moderated their views. But before coming up with the new advertising, they figured out how to reinterpret the rest of the New Testament.
The Gnostic interpretations never left the Church after that. When the New Testament was translated into Latin, they began to change key doctrines. When it was translated into English, this was not fixed, but even worse errors were added. Then the English translations multiplied, and most of the translators grew up with a heavy set of false doctrines and translation principles.
The Good News of Messiah fixes all of this. No other so called Messianic Translation has. Strangely enough some non-Messianic versions correctly translate many of the problem points (because there are still a few true scholars left in some Churches), but not so called Messianic versions. Why is this? This is another case of false advertising. Religious fraud. This is because the translators of those versions may have accepted Torah as correct for observance, but they did not truly have the expertise required to unravel the damage done by the Church. Those translations are cosmetic window dessings on dead translations, made to look Jewish, but lacking the deep substance of correction.
The problem was the same as at the Reformation. Many could recognize the problem. But they did not know how to fix it. The Catholic Church was corrupt and still is, but did the Protestants know how to fix the corrupt doctrines. Nope. They only departed from the obvious moral corruption. The doctrines, they just modified yet again and claimed they had corrected them. They also said “scripture only” while practicing nothing of the sort. Now we are back at the same place again. The Protestant Church has become utterly corrupt advocating every kind of immorality. I need not specify. Anyone with eyes to see can see it.
But if anyone studies the history of the so called Reformation they will see that claims that Protestants returned to the original faith fall seriously short. (This is chronicled in the Scroll of Biblical Chronology, Vol. I). It was clear that the Protestants protested the Catholic terms, but agreed with them in hating the Anabaptists unto death! I make no claim that the Anabaptists had the pure truth either, but an evil tree is known by evil fruit, and the Protestant persecutions of the latter prove it. The reason that Messianic versions correct nothing is that the translators are looking back to Reformation “solutions,” Luther’s version of imputed righteousness, a slightly modified, but still corrupt explanation of “justification,” and a more or less complete failure to realize what Paul was getting at in his various uses of the word “law.”
The Good News of Messiah corrects the problem doctrines on the basis of sound linguistic principles and logical investigation as well as recognizing the parable principle, because often the Almighty speaks in riddles that may be solved only by an audience that is really listening on the one hand, and may be easily missed or missinterpreted by many who say that accept scripture’s teaching, yet do not really do so.
The parable principle is also connected to chronological mysteries, which seem one thing upon a surface reading, but are quite another based on thorough information from the divine Law. He who has ears, let him hear. The riddle of Paul, therefore, is that he uses the word nomos (typically translated “law”) to mean something that is customary, which may on the one hand be interpreted to clearly explain the good news, but on the other hand by the lawless surface reader be interpreted to do away with the Law altogether! Of course this riddle may only be deciphered if one is reading the original language, because it is only in the original language, with its nuances and double meanings for words that the riddle may be solved harmoniously with Scripture.
The word nomos may be translated 1. norm, custom, 2. usage, 3. what is customary, 4. law, 5. statute.
It makes all the difference whether a custom is ended or a law is ended. It makes all the difference whether a customary procedure is suspended or the law itself. Forgiveness of sin is indeed a suspension of the customary application of justice, but the law that says sin is sin is not done away. That is the beauty of the good news, which the Good News of Messiah brings out eloquently in the translation, and in the explanations in the footnotes.
But it is also a test for the nations. It is a riddle to be figured out. Will the whole scripture be read with the parable of Paul and solved, or will he be be taken out of context and interpreted according to the fancy of gnostic theology which exalted the indulgence of the flesh while pretending the purity of the spirit.
