Here we have my theory of the situation as it was at the end of the third day, when the fourth day was about to begin in Eden according to the standard day, or at the Date line according to the common day. As you see, the day begins in Eden with sunset, but at the date line with sunrise. For Asia, the day began in the second evening at 9 p.m. For this reason, the order "evening .... then morning" is somewhat relative to where you are. Certainly for the land area, the day begins at some point in the evening, though we could not specifically say this was "sunset." In fact for locations like North America, it would be the first evening, where the sun would be seen going down in the afternoon.
Also, all the land is shown in one place as Scripture teaches and science confirms (e.g. Panagea < Greek meaning "all land"), and the waters are gathered to one place also. The light source was the pre-solar light of the first three days. The earth is seen from the north pole down, and the light source is moving in the clockwise direction.
